Joy is a wonderful emotion to experience. It is the pleasure arising from a sense of wellbeing and satisfaction that exceeds our expectations, and is associated with feeling blessed, smiling involuntarily, and giving meaning and motivation to our daily lives.




Here are 6 ways to experience Joy in your life:


1. Practice Gratitude

Gratitude is the overwhelming feeling of appreciation and thankfulness. It is motivating and allows us to live more purposely.


A simple way of practicing gratitude is to spend time each day writing down at least three things that you are grateful for. It doesn’t have to be major; it can be as simple as hearing the birds sing or meeting up with a friend.


The more you practice gratitude, the more your brain will look for reasons to be thankful, and the more joy it will bring to your life.


2. Surround Yourself With Positive People

When you surround yourself with positive people, they are going to encourage you to believe in yourself, to follow your dreams and aspirations and ultimately, find joy in your life.

Positive people boost your confidence and strengthen your resilience. They will support you during your good days as well as your bad days. Embrace the positive energy from those who uplift you.


3. Let Go Of The Past

Your past is not your future. Living in the past prevents you from experiencing joy in the present. However, reflecting on the past can encourage you to learn and explore options for the present and empower you.


Relish this new chapter of your life as you deserve to feel joy.


4. Change Your Physiology

Changing your physiology can alter your mind and internal thoughts along with your external appearance and change how you view the world.


If you stand with your shoulders slumped forward and your head facing down, you look and feel you are lacking confidence. Standing with your shoulders back and your head held high gives you the look and feeling of confidence. Try it now and feel the joy.


5. Be Fully Present

Being present is living in the moment. It clears your mind of distractions, brings clarity, and allows you to notice the small things around you and to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.


Being fully present is where we experience joy and happiness.


6. Give Back To Society

A way of giving back to your community is by volunteering your time, skills, or money. Being of service to others will enrich both your life and others in your community, which will ultimately bring you joy.
